Maybe someone around can help out with this...here is a list of Vets that are in my area.  The nearest one is 130 miles from me.  Can anyone recommend one in this list and their thoughts/cost of it?  I called one and was quoted 325.  Thanks!

Whoever has the best price  Grin  All PennHIP certified vets are trained in the PH method the same way, and use the same equipment etc..
($325, doesnt sound so bad, as I know there are places around Atl. that charge $450!)

I guess I am lucky that my vet only charges $250 Canadian Smiley Smiley

good luck!

yeah, it was about $200 plus where I am too. I only have the one option though, and that was a few years ago when I did the last one, so I'm sure it's gone up by now.

Whatever vet you go to - find out how many/often they do the pennhip.  If it's very seldom, move on.  I chose a vet ten years ago (holy crap it's been that long??) that did them very rarely.  He used too much forced and popped my dog's hip out of the socket.  Said "oops, I haven't done a pennhip in about a year or more" blah blah blah...  She recovered fine but it cost a visit to the board certified orthopedic vet.

The vet I use in SC does them often and *was* priced decently the last time I had them done; which is a few years ago now.  I was very pleased with her and also her evaluations of the radiographs.  I have a couple dogs to be done soon.  I'm hoping she's still reasonable!

GL with your dog!!

Alexis, if I can't find one nearby that performs with some frequency I may check back to see who you use.  I don't mind the drive if it's done correctly.  I hate having to go do something twice...
